handstacking

Went out of my way to leave a handstacking legacy in this wash. 3.5 days ended up with 14.3 grams largest was a 2 grammer on smooth bedrock on the outside bend. A few were detected in the stretch with a 90s technology vlf gold bug 2.

Yo All ... I chased down a small quartz vein in some greenstone schist recently ... After a couple days of following crumbs up a hill I hit a pocket ... Butt ugly gold ... But near 5 ozt. of butt ugly gold can grow on you ... Anyhow, I'm fixing to dolly it all up and smelt it ... Can't wait to see how much finished gold I get ... I'm thinking about 3 ozt. The largest one on the upper left weighs 2.5 ozt. ... The big flat one (1.8 ozt.) has the vein like a sandwich throughout itsself ... Cheers, Unc

Well, I turned 41 today so I figured I would head to Big Bear and do some detecting in Holcomb Valley and Rattlesnake Canyon. Got the skunk, AGAIN, but it was really nice to get out with the lady and just relax and enjoy myself. The End.

Can you detectorists help with other clubs that would be good for kinda a newbie at this ? Most of my gold hunting has come from other types of prospecting. Thank you guys for the help in advance.

battery up grade and advice

I have a gpx 4000 and wish to upgrade my battery with a built-in audio amplifier does anyone know if mine lab will do this for me ? I bought this mine lab write before the 4500 came out. I also bought an 14" nugget finder advantage elliptical sl mono coil . To this day i still have not found any gold with it . so i went back to chris and bought a gold bug ll ! I love this little detector its great ! but again i have found no gold with it ! I live in Pahrump,nv. and the gold around here is very small ! the biggest little picker i've seen around here was only half the size of a BB . i bought a little nugget from a guy that has a coupl of claims up around nevada city,ca. the goldbug will scream on this little peace of gold but my 4000 dose not seem to respond to it ! anyone have any good advice for me ?

Ok my new detector is down to two detectors advice needed VLF or PI

The two detectors are the Gold Bug 2 or the Garret Infinium. I hear that the PI's go deeper but only get bigger nuggets and VLF shallower and get smaller nuggets. Please correct me if I am wrong. With a PI will i dig more trash and hot rocks ? or can I avoid hot rocks with both detectors ? Any help would be appreciated. I will be detecting around Prescott and there are a lot of hot rocks here and heavy minerals in the ground and I will be detecting around morristown as well. I don't really want to knock either technology just trying to get the pros and cons and make the best decision for me.

Hi all,

Well the Phoenix Chapter is having thier monthly outing this month up in the cooool pines!! Yes, finally out of the desert!!! It will the
19-20th, though a dedicated few plan on showing up early Friday or late Thursday. Though I plan on getting there on Weds. the 16th!! It will be near Lynx Creek on the Bannie Mine Rd. Which is south of Lynx Lake and north of the town of Walker. You can get there via heading to Prescott, then turning at AM-PM store, which is Walker Road, and the Bannie Mine road is marked clearing and is on the west side of the road about halfway to Walker.... Food will be provided on Sat(hotdogs & hamburgers), and everyone is encouraged to bring a sidedish, cookies, or snacks!!!!

The Following July and August outings will be up at Woody's place in Dewey once again, any that attented last year were treated like kings, with breakfast & coffee at his house and we all camped in his 'backyard' on his 5 acre property!!! YOU can't beat that!!!! :-) Here are some of the pics that I took during both outings, fun and gold was had by all!!!! :-)

Just want to give a big thank you to Chris at AZO for the super fast shipping and great service on my latest order. Though he is always fast on the shipping, this situation was a little different due to a payment issue which Chris handled like a champion and was able to get me my 8x6 Nugget Finder well in advance of my 3 day hunt. I now have plenty of time to take it out locally and get used to it so I don't have to go out there with a completely new tool!
