Hi All,

Way back in January I promised Chris and Steve I would post my first nugget when it happened. Little did I know that my camera would take pictures but not down load them. Anyway camera finally back from the shop here is my attempt at posting the Picture. Nugget came from LSD area, Sorry Uncle Ron one got away from you!, on Jan 23, 2004. just 2 days after I met Steve and Chris for my lesson and first Arizona nugget hunt. I tell you it was quite a thrill. When I called Chris and Steve and spoke with Chris I don't know who was more excited, Chris or myself! Thanks again guys you made my week!
Heres the Pik .. I hope!!

Congrats Mike, Those LSD nuggets are sure elusive! How many pounds of bullets and trash did you have to dig before you snagged that one? tongue.gif

Potholes I think if I had to weigh all the bullets and other metal trash during the week I would have to say I had 15-20 pounds. I really don't know what the chambermaids thought at the hotel in Wickenburg when they emptied my trash cans. I filled my carpenter's nail pouch a couple of times with wire, bullets, bean/coffee cans, nails and tacks. Somebody, many somebodies, kept telling me to dig every target. Well I did and when I got the nail pouch full I could quit for the day! wink.gif One day, I even dumped a load onto the back cargo area of the rental "Escape suv"(poorest excuse I have ever driven for an suv by the way!) and went out again to collect some more junk. I felt like I was on trash duty in the desert!! mad.gif Oh well the next time will be all gold .. there isn't any more trash... can't be can there?? blink.gif tongue.gif

And Darin, Unfortunately I was only there for the week, found the one nugget and haven't gotten back. I plan to go again next year and would like to stay for at least 2 weeks. One week was fun but I felt I was only scratching the surface of what my GP3K can do. Probably by the time I get to AZ again I will have forgotten all that I learned and have to start all over again.

It was fun, fresh air, new people and everyone seemed really interested in helping me make my first score. I really felt like a kid in a candy store. A gold rock candy store!! rolleyes.gif

Have a golden day,

Mike
