Looking on Minelab site it's showing a new waterproof compact detector. They don't show a clear picture but they do call it the F 3 Compact . The Mag LT says it will fold up to 16 inches. What I could see at a distances it look like the Garrett ATX. Chuck

The F3 is Minelabs mine detector. The F3 and ATX Garrett look a lot alike.
The ATX uses the same external design ,as their own mine detectors . It
is a military design, used by both for their military contracts.

Hi boondocker I didn't make a note of it but done what I said above and click on the first thing I saw. The site showed it folded up and extended. On Rob forum someone said he heard about a new minelab coming out at a prospecting shop two days ago. Chuck

Rich that is the same site that I saw. It may be the same as the military detector is being they say about the same in the LT mag. and it folds up.

Well Steve I always have it two months ahead of time. I just put down the month and year it says at the top left of the mag.. Chris Gholson has a story on prospecting the Pilbara Goldfield. If anyone don't believe what I say that's okay. Chuck

Hi Chuck,

I believe you! Just asking. Seems like December should be out now not January. But Thanksgiving is not here yet and my wife is working on Christmas so what do I know?

Somebody should start a new magazine and sell the issues a year in advance. Why wait a year for the December 2014 issue when you can have it now!

Hi Steve I know it's odd that I get it two months ahead of time but I've taking it for years and it's always been that way. Minelab shows a guy swinging a detector and it looks like Alaska. I say that being you see snow. This not the first time I've seen things about Minelab that the dealers didn't know about. The best to you! Chuck

This is the rumor I spoke about last week.

MPS, SETA and powered by on board "C" cells.

Id bet a few timing/audio filters choices as well.

The announcement went out to dealers several days ago.

Steve I hope we find out something soon. I think most believe I fell out of my tree. We all know one person that would know all about what's going on with Minelab and that's John P. He's always testing Minelabs before they hit the market. So Big John where are you?? Chuck

Well the cat is out of the bag. This new detector is a 2300 Minelab and it was said it looks like the 3030 and maybe a little like the Garrett ATX. I done a search for a 2300 minelab metal detector and up jump nuggetshooter site. It was said at a dealers meeting they were shown this new detector. Chuck

I'm here, and I'm happy just sitting this one out till the dust settles.

Everyone's seen the announcements Minelab have made in recent weeks so it should be no surprise there are things in the works. Exciting times for us metal detectorists me thinks. B)
