Sorry no pics. Camera is messed up I guess BUT .........

I did get my deer. Nice 168 # Whitetail UNICORN Buck! huh.gif Yep !! A unicorn ... and you thought there wasn't any such thing. This whitetail had only one antler. Evidently during velvet it had banged a tree, rock or maybe even another deer ... or a logging truck ... and broke it off well below the button the antler forms from. I almost think that the break was so deep that he would not have grown the left side ever again had he not walked into my bullet.

Great hunt in the mountains and deep woods of northern Maine with my brother Steve. Enjoyed every minute of it ... even the drag! It was on snow all down hill. Phew ... because I am not in the greatest shape and Steve has a bum knee. We make a great pair! tongue.gif

Congrats Mike! Sounds like you really earned your keep! Glad you guys had some luck. I can only dream about hunting those monster whitetail back east. My father was born and raised in Michigan and took quite a few nice bucks including one that was the state archery record for a few years but I can't seem to make the time to go back there and give it a whirl!

Congrats again. Let's see some pics!

Joe we will have to wait until my brother gets back and develops his. My digital camera didn't like the cold, then wet, then warm and back again. I will post when I get them from him. He went back up to see if he could get the monster that I missed ... no shot fired ... the day before I shot this one.

I'll say one thing about this buck ... if the tenderloins that I finished tonight are any indication the venison is going to be superb!!
