Hello everyone, I was wondering if the red stuff on this nugget is iron. Most of the nuggets im getting here have this or a black mark. I found this one under a bush, abt 2 inches down smile.gif I use a sd2200d, I really like it. I am waiting on a 14 inch mono coil, or trying to sad.gif lol. My girlfriend said I worry more abt the coil then her tongue.gif Well thanks for any info.

Hi Don,

My guess would be some iron oxide as well. This reddish material is common on many nuggets I've found in Australia. If you want to get rid of it try soaking it in oxalic acid; it will really clean it up & is fairly safe. By the way - nice nugget! smile.gif Your new 14" ellip. mono should find you tomorrow, look for a Priority Mail box...

Well Thank you Chris, and good luck with the new 4000.
