Don't waste your time its more Chinese Junque, the best Gold Detector is the GPX 4000 with a good asstm of coils .

There are so many good low end detectors produced in this country, for example the Tesoro group, test a nugget or two with one of those and you will be amazed but when the ground gets tough those units fall by the wayside quickly...... More rumors about gold machines and its really getting tiresome, but I did hear the new Whites is going to sell for 899.00 that ought to shake up some folks trying to peddle the GS5 for 2500.00 tongue.gif Good Hunting Geo

Sounds like a good detector to take to Mexico. At that price if the Federales decide to steal it, So what. ----Bob

I haven't had much luck yet with Chinese electronics, they work all right but then break after a few weeks or months. I do know the Chinese have a goal of moving toward making their own products now that they have become quite adept at making the "knock-off" copies based on other countries designs. Pretty soon they will most likely be researching and producing their own original high-quality electronics.

Ridge runner. I don't believe it's made by Minelab. Someone dressed one up to look like a minelab and posted a photo on an Australian website for a joke. -----Bob

Montana
You are right about not being a Minelab detector. I know that Jack Lance has them for sale on his site.

The only thing about Whites new detector that they maybe are coming out with is a good price at 899.
If its got all new tech. and not a throw back from some of the others on the market now.At that price is it something that everbody can afford and yet not fill the bill. I don't want to look behind me to see Montana with his 4000 picking up gold that I had miss.
I have done this with my coin detector and picking up coins that others had miss. I use a Eagle 2 Whites and its hard to beat. I know its better ones out there but this machine is part of me.

I did get the pun. I have a rule that I don't bad mouth a detector are a man's wife. The reason is I may wake up one morning and find myself married to her and wanting to buy that same detector that I was bad mouthing.
I do hope when Whites do come out with this new detector its worth the money and more in what it can do.
Take care seeker!
I guess you could say that I'm downunder to you.
