Hi Everyone,

At long last, our shipment of new Minelab GPX-4500's arrived today from Australia!!! biggrin.gif For anyone on our pre-order list; your detectors should be arriving soon.

With all these boxes around I couldn’t help myself, I felt like a kid on Christmas day! I decided to put one together and make a quick run to the hills. There was only about an hour or so of daylight left, but it gave me a chance to start experimenting with the controls. Still way too early to know anything, but I did really like the new Target Volume control, which functions like an amp. The LCD backlight was actually a nice addition for late afternoon hunting. I also played with the Stabilizer and it did help clean up the threshold chatter. The audio seemed a little strange, but I always think this about new detectors. As far as ease of use, current 4000 owners should have no trouble making the transition. I dug about a dozen targets ranging from .22 lead to small wire fragments, but none of them gold. Hope to have something more exciting to write about after hitting a few patches that I’ve pounded with the 4000.

Hi Chris,

Some of us got a slightly different view of the 4500 here in Oz, but more on that later.

I however do have a question for you?

Do you sell Minelab detectors?

Just a general question and I hope you allow (as a moderator of this site ) this post to remain listed. I have also posted the same question on some other sites and found it removed with no explanation.

I have more faith in you Chris, than I have in other moderators.

Hi Quartz,

We sell the entire range of Minelab machines, but our current contract with Minelab USA limits where we can ship them. As I understand it, we can send used detectors overseas, but no brand new units with factory warranty.

tongue.gif .....errrr Quartz, why don't you fly on over to Arizona and then just buy a 4500 or two from Chris for a bang up price and then fly back home again? or better yet look on e-bay for some business that has gone bankrupt in the US and aquire some via liquidation (hopefully not at the expense of someones stolen credit card blink.gif )....... or just start flogging some GS5c's and make a buck that way?
