Can someone give me some info., on the 2200 sds and a power supply? I know there is new battery supplies that use the nihm batteries, I saw a 7.2 volt rechargable battery pack at Radio Shack, it uses"c" type nihm batteries, and comes with a charger. It is rated 3000mah and I have a old minelab dome top I can put on it to make my conections. My question is how long will the battery run the detector? I know it is 1/10th of a volt short of the ones that sell for $350.00, and it does not have a regulator, but nickel hybred batteries hold there voltage until they go dead, drop all at once. I would like some in put on this, as you can get this set up for $50.00, and it would be worth it to put 7.2 volts, instead of the 6 volts with the standard batteries. Grubstake dry.gif

Grubstake,
3,000.0 milliamps is equal to 3.0 amps.
Your SD draws about .6-.8 amps.
3.0 divided by .8 = appx. 3.75 hours running time.

Something don't feel right with "C"
batteries. How many are there?

Kind regards,

Steve Gholson.

There is 6, I know at 1.25 that works out to 7.5. but it says on the battery pack,7.2 I'm smart enough, to know that I can dubble up the battteries in a parallell , to get mor hours. But is that extra voltage worth it? Thanks for your reply,Grubstake

Steve, I fogot to add, that there is a lot of talk, on mods, and putting 8.5 volts in to the 21000 and the 2000, I have a 2200sd What is the maximum safe voltage you can run on these detectors, without blowing something up? Grubstake
