Not to forget the path the rain takes when it REALLY comes down. It's good to see where and the size of any washes. -
Road Closure - Prospector's Locked Out - Decision Corner Weaver Cr
Paratrooper replied to KidGold's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
Here in Mohave county I can go to the Assessors site (county) and scan an area and see who or what has ownership/control of any area. It's a Google Earth type layout with lines superimposed over it to show ownership. If you can't get that information then there will be numbers that can be checked in the same website showing who owns/pays taxes on every plot. If it shows Public land BUT someone is claiming ownership then their WILL be a record at the offices of the entity that they claim they purchased it from. -
BEEs Be Careful Out There
Paratrooper replied to RiverJohn's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
That happened about 3 miles from me as the crow flies. I've passed that old barn a jillion times but never went over and dicked with it. It seems like it can happen anywhere. -
minelab sd2200 d product reviews
Paratrooper replied to kyle's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
I had one for quite a while. Downside: It was heavy. Upside: I called it the beast and for good reason. If there was ANYTHING under that coil you would surely know about it. It got EVERYTHING. Good deep machine. Chris is right about the amplifier. Get that unit and you will dig DEEP where others got NO signal and moved on. -
CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Gholson and Steve Gholson
Paratrooper replied to DOC's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
Not to forget that Steve knows more about MD coils and the related science than ANYONE in the universe. He is "the fount of knowledge" when he speaks on that subject. It was my pleasure to listen to him in Prescott a couple of years ago. If it were not for time constraints we would ALL have surely left that building with a Phd in Coiloligy. (YES, that is a word.) Or at least it is NOW! -

SD 2200
Paratrooper replied to Patrick in Havasu's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
Hey TROOP, which model are you looking for? There were 2 2200's. One was the green box which was called SD2200d and the blue box which was called SD2200v. Is it green or blue? The reason I ask is that since I own a SD2200d (green box) I have an instructional tape for it which I will lend you. -
Gold Market Price Collapse
Paratrooper replied to nugget7's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
As the market goes up people lose the fear of the economy having a problem. As that happens gold is not needed as a "safe haven" as it often is. Now, SOMETHING is making that happen. It is one of two things. Either the economy is really doing better OR Bernanke is printing bunches of new money and pumping up Wall Street. If you guess #1 ..... well, you're WRONG. These bozos are trying to spend their (OUR) way into prosperity. It won't work. It's like trying to screw your way back to virginity. -

My 2200d did me a great job. If it wasn't so heavy it would be with me in Gold Basin instead of in my closet. -

Quit My Day Job, Going Prospecting
Paratrooper replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
Hey Steve, I doubt that you remember me but I'm the guy that served with your dad over at Charlie AIRBORNE on Fort Rich. I'm glad that you are going to take the time to smell the roses (or nuggets ... whatever) since after all those years working for yourself (the meanest boss on the planet) you deserve time off to do stuff for YOU. I am outside of Kingman AZ about 40 miles south of Gold Basin and usually have a clear schedule if you are ever gonna beep this area. Good luck in your ventures. Let me know if I can help with anything in this area. -

AZO Outing at Gold Basin (Nov. 2nd - 4th, 2012)
Paratrooper replied to Chris Gholson's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
You DO NOT have to wait for next year! All you need to do is show up. Night or day, warm or cold, weekday or weekend. There WILL be an outing just for YOU! I, for one, will drop what I'm doing and we WILL go and find you some gold. AND I am sure we will NOT be alone. Can I get an AMEN??? AIRBORNE!!! -
He's in Golden Valley (Kingman area) AZ. The inventor developed this for his own use and continually "tweaked" it until it worked like a Swiss clock. Since he makes part of his living from actually prospecting it was in his best interest to use something that REALLY WORKS!!! After he had it running perfectly he was kind enough to share his good fortune with the rest of us. You owe yourself, at the very least, a good look it it. Trust me, I know this guy. If it didn't work he wouldn't offer it to others.

I know about the shortage of gold in TX. When I lived in Houston I would drive down to Galveston and stop at a small shop in Manvel. A fella named Richard Ray owned it. I would have to say that the beaches should offer a lot of action for beepers but as far as gold prospecting things are slim. Now there are some fellas that are "history hunters" and find a ton of stuff all around. Lotsa folks traveled in, out and around TX through the years and I wouldn't be suprised if a cache or two turned up now and again. There were quite a few folks there around the early 1800's so a few coins from that time wouldn't hurt a fellas bank account.

Hey, you didn't mention your accomidations. Are you camping or staying at a motel? Quartzsite only has a jillion FREE camp sites as well as Gold Basin (Lost Basin as well). If you renew your GPAA you have some places to camp around Stanton as well (Lucky Linda). Stanton area,Gold Basin and Lost Basin are dry camping areas as is Q'site. Some of the guys can speak about Prescott with more knowledge.

Hi new here and looking for suggestions
Paratrooper replied to GeorgeM's topic in AZO's: Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forum
I have to say that Frank speaks the true word. I live up here as well and I'm halfway to the gold fields before I realize that I've left the house. In all fairness anything north of Prescott and east or west of that area is prime territory. If you have NO other committments such as work or kids in school you can settle anywhere in NO. AZ and be happy. Not to mention housing prices are low right now. -
