  1. Last month a friend and I found a new spot here in AZ that dates back to the late 1800’s. As with many older sites there was virtually nothing left to alert the passerby of its existence. At one time it was home to a large group of men, but today there are no signs of any foundations, walls, or even large piles of junk. Had it not been for the broken pieces of purple and blue glass, we might have missed it as well. So far we have only made two quick trips. Nothing of real value just yet, but some interesting relics are starting to turn up. Below are some of my finds using the Minelab CTX 3030, my partner is swinging the Nokta Relic.
  2. My family and I were out doing some detecting this past weekend at an old mining camp. The camp dates to the 1870's and as you could imagine was loaded with trash, so I opted to run the Minelab CTX 3030. I found several Wheat cents, modern day coins, and a few old rusty relics, but the coolest find was below. At first I thought it was just a piece of scrap metal until I rubbed off the dirt. It measures approx. 9" x 4" and it is the first I have ever found. I am thinking it came off a whiskey barrel. What do you guys think???
