beatup 66 Report post Posted May 4, 2014 Got to go on a detector hunt to a homestead down on the powder river south of buffalo wyo this is on privite property., the local club goes every spring and this the first time i have been able to make the trip .. this place dates from the 1880's and is in some intersting country,it is only about 30 miles or so from the hole in the wall as the crow flys( butch cassidy and the wild bunch's hide out) and was right in the area of the johnson county war (cattlemen against settlers 1892).. There were five of us and every one found something of value mostly historic, lots of old ammo 45 40, 45 60, 45 70 and 45 90 some 38cal rim fire and some old pin fire ammo an old ox shoe took awhile to figure that one out, one piece of 3 color gold plated jewelry, two V nickles 1908-09 and one indian penny 1890 an old goodyear rubber company tag or buttom of some kind some old rivited butttons and a lid to a old dutch oven, also assorted other things yet to be identified Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

beatup 66 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 lipca they have pick out some silver and military buttons, buckels and hand tools over the last six or so years the guys have been going down there. the little bottle we found out is some kind of a medicine bottle.
