Was near Rich Hill this past weekend to do a little trail riding. Saw a number of these crested beauties! This one was especially beautiful so thought it was worth sharing!

Great shot Mike! Those crested saguaros are actually quite rare. My whole life tromping through the desert and I've only ever come across two or three. I don't think scientists really know why this happens. I've heard everything from genetic mutation, freeze damage, and even lightning strikes. Very cool photo, thanks for sharing.
