DocDave 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 Beaumont, TX, the Gold-less part of Texas. I have a daughter in Riverside, CA. how far is that from Santee?
Bucket 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2011 Riversides pretty big, so depending on where in Riverside, i would say 2-3 hrs from Santee. Being from Texas yer probably packin enough firepower to finish off most television sets , so i hope the show is decent tonight.

mt miner 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 The problem with shows like this is that the mining industry doesnt need anymore bad press ! I dont have satallite tv anymore, turned it off a year ago, so I havent seen this show, but if its anything like the " Ice road truckers " series, Its nothing but twisted hollywood propaganda. Thats what sells, and makes money, for the film people. I drove truck for 25 years, and I wouldnt even bother interviewing most of the guys I saw on that show. I suppose if they issued a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode, that " successful miners, or truck drivers, dont operate like this " I could have fun watching the show also. The problem is that most naive tv veiwers will believe that all mining operations are like this one, so now they have another negative view of the industry ! However,on the positive side, it sounds like a fun show to watch. Danger, risk, adventure, gold and Alaska, It dont get no better than that !! Lets go ! Way better than another doctor/cop soap opera. If you can get the gold out of the Llano River you can get gold anywhere (super fine little buggers). I have about 10 gallons of material in my garage from a trip up there 4 years ago I need to practice on. The Texan
